10-B: Final Free-Choice Project Reflection: May 31, 2013
1. My project is a circle with many layers of different colors. I used Sharpies. It took me about 12 hours to finish using class time and outside of class.
2. I think the good part of my project is that all of my edges match up with each other. I think that because it would look strange if they didn't match up.
3. The bad part of my project is that some of the layers are different widths. I think that because it looks weird when some are big and some are smaller.
4. In this piece of art I was trying to communicate peace because it reminds me of tie-dye which reminds me of hippies.
5. The important elements of my drawing are line and texture. "Line because I used millions and billions of lines, and texture because the strokes give a sort of fuzzy look to it."- Mr. Purdy.
6. The important principles of my drawing are pattern and rythm. Pattern because all of my colors are in the same order repeatedly, and rythm because my strokes are not the same width.
7. I learned that going the extra mile is worth it, because if I only did two sheets instead of one it wouldn't have looked as cool. Even though it took me double the time I think it was worth it. This can be applied to life because it is worth putting more effort into things than needed.
8. First I looked online for an idea, but I didn't find anything that I liked. Second I decided what I was going to do by drawing it out on sketch paper. Third I was going to start my project when Haley suggested I use 4 sheets instead of two so it would look cooler. Fourth I started drawing the lines.
9. I started the project thinking that I would only use 2 sheets, but then I did the project the way I did because when Haley suggested that I did four drawings instead of two I thought it would look a lot cooler. I faced a challenge when my lines didn't really match up at the begining, so then I measured the edges out so they would match up and look good.
10. I like the free choice project. I love art and I have fun doing art things. I will doodle over the summer because I love doodling. I will not be taking any art classes next year because I am not good enough at anything to want to continue in it. I will miss art. I wish that I could take Intro over again.
