Kite Reflection (6-D): February 4, 2013
1. The strong part of my kites are the patterns because there are a variety of patterns and it all looks good together.
2. The bad parts of my kites are the tape, the cutting, the colors, and mostly all of it, because I did a bad job cutting, and the tape has lots of wrinkles.
3. In my first kite I chose a tribal theme because I liked the different patterns in it, and in my other kite I did that pattern because I saw it on Pinterest and thought that it looked nice.
4. Both of my kites are triangle and I chose to do a triangle because Mr. Purdy said that they were the best to fly.
5. In my first kite I used pretty much all of the colors because I thought that it would look cool, but I was wrong and they don't look good together at all. In my second kite I chose orange, purple, blue, green, and terqious because I thought that they looked good together.
6. I think that the downfall of using sharpies is that you can't erase what you color if you make a mistake, but the color really sticks out and it looks pretty. I didn't like the tyvek because it only came in white, but besides that it was fine. And in using tape it was hard to make sure the wrinkles would stay out, but it was easy to take off if you made a mistake.
7. I learned that I really hate making kites. And that I get really frustrated when I make them.
8. First I made my preliminary designs, then I went online and googled patterns to help me figure out what my design would be, and when I found it, I made my mock up, and then cut out my tyvek and colored that. Then I cut out an exceeding kite and went on the internet again to find a design, then I colored that kite and then made all my tails, fin, and taped on my dowles.
9. Ummm... Yes it's a worthwhile project..? I didn't think that the project was all that bad, but I got really frustrated because of all the things that went into it, and I guess I didn't expect it to be as hard as it was. And I don't like the "If it doesn't fly, you get an F." Because I think that this is art class and not construction class or something...
